North Records Decisive Victory in Concord

Posted Sunday, September 27, 2009 by Nitin Karkhanis
The Nashua North Titans traveled to the state capital on Saturday, September 26th on a beautiful autumn afternoon to take on the Concord Crimson Tide. Playing during Concord's homecoming celebration did not cow the Titans as they set the tone early in the game. Concord's opening possession with good field position netted zero points as the Titan defense forced a 3 and out. In fact, 3 and out was the the standard the Titans set for the day as the Tide managed 79 yards of total offense for the entire game.

Contrasting that with North's effort, Nashua managed 296 yards of total offense, with most of that coming in the first half. Of course, the backs and receivers had terrific days, but the credit has to go to the offensive line that opened up huge holes. In addition, the offensive unit demonstrated what team play really means by throwing good blocks up and down the field that allowed the big plays to be possible. Finally, North took care of the football as the there were no turnovers in the game.

Defensively, the Titan tacklers were tenacious and furious. Every defensive play included at least 3 Titans. The line, the linebackers, and the secondary played extremely well and kept the Tide off balance.

Congratulations Titans players and coaches and keep it up! Our next game is Friday, October 2nd against  Manchester Memorial at Stellos Stadium, 7 p.m. Please come out in droves and support the players and coaches!
